Program Description:
Chile Banner

Sandwiched between the Pacific Ocean and the Andes Mountains, and stretching 4,300 km from the Peruvian border in the north to Cape Horn and the Strait of Magellan in the south, Chile encompasses every kind of environment from tropical to desert to sub Antarctic.  The long, impossibly thin line of Chile boasts a magnificent Pacific coastline, Andean peaks with over 50 active volcanoes, the inhospitable Atacama Desert, and Chilean Patagonia.  Since the end of military rule and the return of a stable democracy in 1990, Chile has proven an attractive site for university-level study. Chilean history covers all phases and models that students may have studied and wish to learn about first-hand.

Nestled on a hilltop with a panoramic view overlooking the city, the Universidad de Adolfo Ibañez’s newly relocated Viña del Mar campus boasts a modern, state of the art facility to serve its 2,000 students. This private university welcomes approximately 150 international students each semester. It was originally established as a School of Business in 1953, and has since grown to be one the top business programs in Latin America. UAI also offers a unique minor in Liberal Arts, providing its students with a multidisciplinary foundation on which to base critical thought, very similar to the educational philosophy of traditional liberal arts colleges in the U.S.

This is a good location for students who want to be in the Valparaíso/Viña del Mar area, and would like to study political science, literature, history, philosophy, or business.
