Middlebury College undergraduates have the unique opportunity to take graduate-level courses at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. Students can study away for a semester or longer and take courses in the following areas: International Education Management; International Environmental Policy; International Policy & Development; Linguistics and Language Teaching; Nonproliferation & Terrorism Studies; and Public Administration.

By studying away at MIIS, it may also be possible for students to get a head start on a future graduate degree with a semester's worth of graduate credit from the semester away. The Middlebury Institute offers master's degrees in the areas of language and international affairs. Degrees are designed to complement the Middlebury College undergraduate liberal arts education with a professional graduate experience that will prepare students for an international career.

Susan Parsons (Assistant Director, International Programs) is the advisor for this program.  Please feel free to contact her with any questions:

Despite the fact that the October 1 deadline has passed, we will accept late applications for the spring 2020 semester at MIIS. Please email Susan Parsons to request that an application be created on your behalf!
